Bluetooth Headset With DAB Radio

The Technology Partnership (TTP) has introduced the first Bluetooth headset accessory with an integrated DAB digital radio in the world. Known as the nanoDAB, it is currently on parade at MWC and will be available on a worldwide basis this September. Guess consumers have ever expanding choices of being entertained, and that means only one thing - you now have more headache when it comes to choosing where, why, and how you should be entertained as most of these services come with a monthly fee which could add up to a considerable sum if you’re not too careful. How many of you folks currently listen to DAB radio? [Press Release]

LG’s KT610 S60 smartphone with GPS: sounds good, looks like something

Posted Feb 11th 2008 1:06AM by Thomas Ricker
Filed under: Cellphones, GPSWhile Sony Ericsson has the tongues wagging over at the Mobile World Congress, LG has quietly loosed its LG-KT610 without any photos. We know it’s a 2.4-inch VGA flip with QWERTY based on Symbian v9.2 and S60 3rd edition feature pack 1. That’s a damn good start before adding 3.6Mbps HSDPA and GPS navigation. As to the looks it’s said to be “sleek” and “uniquely designed.” Thanks LG, but that isn’t quit enough information to form a mental picture now is it? We’ll slap in some pics as soon as they roll in.

The Ultimate Drum Kit for Rock Band

I confess that I have never played Rock Band. It is not that I do not want to, it is that I have had no opportunities here in Japan. American games take a long time to come out over here. If you love your Rock Band drumming action, then the Ultimate Rock Band Drum Kit is most definitely for you.

This is a complete DIY drum kit for Rock Band. It was designed and built by Brett “Buzz” Dawson using a real drum kit and a whole lot of ingenuity. The kit was gutted and outfitted with the necessary sensors to create this one of a kind controller. I have to say, it looks great and it is certainly not beyond the capabilities of a moderately skilled techie to recreate.

HTC Shift finally ships in Europe, still nowhere to be found in the US

Posted Feb 11th 2008 12:00AM by Ryan Block
Filed under: Handhelds, LaptopsThe oft-postponed HTC Shift is finally hitting Europe today, about two months later than expected after the update we got in December, and even further from its original November 2007 release date. If you’re out that way, you can snag yourself one in Spain through Telefonica, UK through Orange, and, in the near future, Italy through TIM — all for €1,199 (~$1,750 US). As for us in the US of delAy? The wait continues.

Sony Ericsson G700: the Silk Bronze Touchscreen Phone

[MWC] With this new elegant silk bronze phone, Sony Ericsson aims at making our lives simpler with the “one-touch full organizer functions”. The company claims that they are delivering innovative organizer capabilities in regular phones with the G-Serie (regular keyboard and size). I guess that this is for people who hate the brick look and size of QWERTY Smartphones (like me), but I would not trade my full keyboard for the sake of fashion! The features include a 2.4” touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixels, a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G (UMTS), handwriting recognition, video calling, picture blogging and video recording.

This GSM phone will be available in selected markets from Q2 2008.

nanoDAB: portable DAB meets Bluetooth

This bugger might have been announced a little far in advance, but come this September new nanoDAB users will get a one-two punch of A2DP Bluetooth headset and portable DAB receiver smushed together into one diminutive package. There’s also some integration with visual digital radio services and like mobile apps, but being that the nearest to us DAB signal is a few thousand miles away we’ll let our foreign readers handle the carrier lobbying.

var Wondering what the XPERIA X1’s magical mystery “panel interface” is? Good, us too. Now we’ve got a preview courtesy of Sony Ericsson. If it functions this quick in hand as it does in the promotional video then Sony Ericsson might just be on to something here. See what we mean after the break.
