Le Million - The most expencive cell phone?

There is no need to talk about the significant role of cell phones in our life. The fact that they turned into something really necessary and important explains why almost everybody has a cell phone. Thus, people started paying more attention not just to the functionality of these devices, but to the way they look as well. As a consequence we got a great variety of them pretty looking phones.

Recently Swedish company Goldwish designed Le Million cell phone that is considered to be the most expensive in the world. It’s made of red, yellow and white gold and encrusted with diamonds of 120 carats. Moreover its backboard is covered with crocodile leather. As regards the price of this gadget it almost corresponds to the name that was given to this device, yet it’s a little bit bigger - 1,43 million dollars.

There is no information about the characteristics of this cell phone and probably this is quite an understandable fact, because they are of no importance. The edition of this gadget is very limited - just three Le Millions will be sold in the world. So everything shows that the uniqueness of the gadget is the only feature, with help of which designers intend to attract people’s attention, especially of reach ones.

As far as we - mere mortals - are concerned I don’t think that someone will really dream about this cell phone. Of course it looks great, but it’s too expensive. Such kind of things should be kept shut up in a safe and not put into the pocket.

IOGear announces Wireless USB CardBus Adapter

There are some technologies that I like to hold off on buying, no matter how great they seem. Take HD movies for example. Had I purchased one a few months ago, I’d likely be kicking myself, as I would have chosen to side with the HD DVD camp (which lets face it, is a sinking ship).Other times I fear that a technology may never catch on, and thus be useless altogether. This would be one reason why I haven’t jumped on board with Wireless USB (WUSB) just yet. I will admit, they are making it much easier to even get older hardware working with this new standard, which is apparent from the announcement of a CardBus WUSB adapter.

Part of me wishes that I could get excited about this CardBus WUSB adapter, but I can’t really say that I’d have much use for it. There aren’t a ton of devices out there that support the standard, and I can’t really think of anything else I’d want to connect to my laptop that doesn’t use Bluetooth. Unfortunately IOGear has not made any announcement on pricing or availability, they’ve only told us that it’s coming.

Sharp’s Full Face 2 Cellphone Brings iNevitable Comparisons [IPhone Wannabe]

The Full Face 2 reminds me of another phone but, in my humble opinion, Sharp’s slim cell looks better from the front than the iPhone does. Beyond its appealing looks, however, it doesn’t heat up the competition all that much. The display is a 3.2-inch multi-touch-less LCD (480 x 854), it has a 3.2MP camera, micro SDHC support, totes HSDPA, 1Seg TV tuner that will be all but useless in the States and will be available in either black, soft pink, champagne gold, white or ice blue. The Full Face 2 is a Japan-only release—I can’t believe I got to put the words ‘full,’ ‘face’ and ‘release’ in the same sentence without making it naughty. Bravo, Sharp. Nyko reveals cord-free adapter for Wii Nunchuck, retrofitters rejoice

Oh sure, one could argue (quite successfully, we might add) that Nyko’s Wireless Nunchuck was quite the blessing for those sick and tired of the factory tether, but what about all us chaps and dames who already purchased Nintendo’s version of the Nunchuck? Fret not, Wii faithful, as Nyko is coming to your rescue once more. The aptly-titled Cord-Free Adapter for Wii Nunchuck enables current wired Nunchuck owners to simply holster their peripherals, wind up the cord and enjoy all sorts of wireless freedom. Granted, we still feel that this February-bound accessory is priced a touch high at $19.99, but hey, it’s cheaper than buying an all new third-party ‘chuck, eh?

Smart Carpet Assists The Fallen

We all know how prone the elderly are when it comes to accidental falls, and sometimes us kids worry as our aged parents are left all alone at home. Researchers at the University of Missouri claim that they have developed a ’smart carpet’ capable of electronically monitoring a senior’s location and sending out an alert in case of a fall. This new sensor can be printed on thin, flexible sheets using inexpensive organic ink, so cheapskates have no more excuse of not getting this for their parents. It is said that a commercial version could roll out in a couple of years’ down the road. This is definitely better than other solutions on the market since the individual in question does not have to be conscious to summon any help.

Aquavision AVF 57-4LCD is World’s Largest Waterproof TV, Lacks Vibrating Remote [TVs]

Besides your bodily filth, what else do you take in the bathroom with you? How about a 57-inch waterproof TV? That’s right, those fellows at Aquavision, who have brought us all manner of waterproof TVs in the past, have now gone to work on the world’s largest waterproof display.

Standing at 57-inches in diagonal length, the AVF 57-4LCD doubles up as a big-ass mirror when not in use. It is capable of Full HD (1920 x 1080), has two HDMI inputs for your waterproof HDMI equipped home theater equipment, both analogue and digital tuners are in-built and, of course, a waterproof remote control. Unfortunately, it doesn’t vibrate, which puts a bit of a downer on anyone hoping to have a waterfest. As for the price, if you have to ask, you probably don’t know. We don’t either, as pricing information has not yet been released. [Born Rich via DVICE]
